This course aims to teach the essential knowledge and skills for personnel appointed to the role of Fire Watch.

Fire Watch is a task that is assigned to suitably trained personnel when hot work is being performed and there is a danger of that work causing a fire.

  • Precautions of hot work

  • Permits to work

  • Essential safety precautions

  • Duties and responsibilities

  • Common causes of fire

  • How fires start and spread

  • Raising the alarm

  • Extinguishing small fires

  • Fire extinguishers and the different media

  • Other common firefighting equipment
