Basic Fire Safety

This course aims to teach the workforce the basics of fire safety including how fires occur, how they spread, how to raise the alarm and which firefighting media to use and how to use it.

The course consists of a theory session in the classroom and then practical hands-on training with various types of firefighting equipment and different media.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites to attend the Basic Fire training course.

Course Content

This course will ensure delegates understand:

  • Common causes of fire

  • How fires start and spread

  • Raising the alarm

  • Extinguishing small fires

  • Fire extinguishers and the different media

  • Other common firefighting equipment

  • Raising the alarm

  • Use of different types of fire extinguishers and media to extinguish fires

  • Use of fire blanket to extinguish a fire
